A CPA-lawyer with over 50 years of professional experience. He specializes in taxation, estate planning, trusts, and corporate law. He is a law professor and pre-bar reviewer at San Beda University and other Bar Review Centers.
He previously served as Vice President and Head of the Legal Services Division at the Bank of the Philippine Islands (BPI), where he worked for 25 years before retiring in January 2007.
Before joining BPI, he began his career at Sycip, Gorres, Velayo & amp; Co. (SGV) as an auditor, later transitioning to the role of tax lawyer. He was then hired as legal and tax counsel at Bancom Development Corporation (Bancom), an investment house. After Bancom, he joined Filipinas Life Assurance Corporation as Head of the Accounting Department and concurrently served as Executive Assistant to the Senior Vice President for Finance. He later became the Chief Legal Counsel of Union Carbide Philippines, Inc., a multinational company.
Atty. Cabaneiro is a sought-after resource speaker on topics such as estate and tax planning, retirement planning, business succession, trust law, and recent tax updates. He is regularly invited by insurance companies, the Center for Global Best Practices (CGBP), and other firms and organizations. He is also a lecturer for the Mandatory Continuing Legal Education (MCLE) programs at San Beda University and Chan Robles.
He has also served as legal counsel to the Philippine Clearing House Corporation, the Automobile Association of the Philippines, and the National Reinsurance Corporation of the Philippines.
Currently, he is the General Counsel and Corporate Secretary of Tuloy sa Don Bosco Street Children Foundation. Atty. Cabaneiro graduated Magna Cum Laude with a degree in Accounting, Cum Laude with a degree in Law, and also holds a Master of Laws degree - all from San Beda University.
He is the author of two books: From Living to Leaving, which outlines the fundamentals of financial, estate, and tax planning, and Life After, which focuses on retirement planning.
