Jim Ruta BA RHU EPC FDFS™
Jim Ruta is a leading champion for the noble profession of selling life insurance. He was a successful in house and detached agent in Winnipeg, Manitoba starting at age 22, selling over 100 lives in his first year. By age 40, Jim was the executive manager of one of Canada’s largest agencies in the heart of Canada’s Financial District on Bay Street. He was a founding executive of IDC Financial, now IDCWIN.
He has been leading, training, and developing successful advisors to the MDRT Top of the Table level his entire career. Jim now coaches some of the world’s top life insurance advisors including Van Mueller, Sim Gakhar, and George Sigurdson.
He is the best-selling author of “Master Your Money Management”, “Don’t Worry Retire Happy” with Tom Hegna and Mike Morrow and “How to Win Sales and Increase Profits”, and “Expert Identity Marketing”. He has contributed to international print and digital media for more than 20 years.
He was one of the first Registered Health Underwriters (RHU) in Canada in 1992. He received his Elder Planning Counsellor designation (EPC) from the Canadian Initiative for Elder Planning Studies in 2003. In 2023, he was named as one of the country’s first “Fellows of Distinguished Financial Services™” by the Knowledge Bureau.
Today, Jim is the president of Advisorcraft Media, an advisor and manager development firm he founded in 1999. They are under contract with the Million Dollar Round Table Academy and Center for Leadership.
Jim is also principal of Advisorcraft Solis – the School of Life Insurance Selling featuring world class advisors. Jim is a founding faculty member of the Canadian Initiative for Elder Planning Studies (EPC). He is an insurance industry thought leader, keynote speaker, and online personality who has appeared in media and conference programs around the world. Those include the Main Platform of the Million Dollar Round Table Annual Meeting and 4 other times, the GAMA LAMP International meeting, the Polish Sales Congress in Warsaw, Poland, The Universal Life of Cyprus Sales Conference, the Hungarian Sales Conference in Budapest, and the Beirut Life Insurance Seminar BLIS, in Lebanon and coming in 2025, in Dubai.
